Volunteers of
the Arts Center

Volunteers are a key part of our success. Events and office obligations would be unmanageable without the help volunteers provide. Most events at the State Theatre require between 40 and 50 volunteers to run smoothly. From ushering to selling concessions, many hands are needed for a successful event. Other volunteer opportunities include a range of projects from poster delivery to gallery receptionist.

Volunteer Description

Our team of volunteers consists of nearly 400 individuals who are committed to the arts in the Chippewa Valley. We seek volunteers who are responsible, helpful, flexible, friendly, and positive.

Opportunities at the State Theatre include greeting patrons, taking tickets, directing patrons to their seats, selling concessions, help with fundraising, distributing playbills, and much more.

Opportunities in the Janet Carson Gallery and in the Arts Center offices include answering phones, taking ticket orders, helping with fundraising and other light office tasks.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment that is focused on the arts then this is a terrific opportunity for you.

Eau Claire Regional Arts Center Volunteer Standards: Professionalism is required at the Arts Center. Volunteers are expected to be on time, dress according to the ECRAC Volunteer Dress Code, follow house policies, respond to and follow through on House Manager and Supervisor requests, and be flexible. Patrons of the arts, staff, members, and fellow volunteers should be treated with the utmost respect.

General Volunteer Requirements

1.

Volunteers are expected to accomplish many tasks, most of which require some physical activity. From walking up and down the aisles in the State Theatre to standing for an hour or more at a time, the ability to meet the physical requirements and to work quickly and efficiently is very important in this busy arts center. And an upbeat attitude is a must.

2.

Our volunteers must commit to an ongoing relationship with the Arts Center. We do not offer one-time only volunteer opportunities for State Theatre Events.

3.

All volunteers must attend one 45-minute training session per year. New volunteers must attend one training session before volunteering for events at the State Theatre.

Volunteers also serve on committees, including:

The Visual Arts Committee — Responsible primarily for the rotating exhibits by area
artists in the Janet Carson Gallery

The Literary Arts Committee — Responsible primarily for the annual Chippewa Valley Book Festival

The Jubilee Committee — Responsible for
the annual Jubilee Gala fundraising event
which includes auctions and live entertainment.
