Sculpture Tour Eau Claire Announces Call to Artists

Eau Claire, WI - The Eau Claire Regional Arts Council, Inc. announced  today  opening of 2014-2015 Sculpture Tour Eau Claire "Call to Artists" application. Sculpture Tour Eau Claire presents an annual outdoor exhibit of sculpture on public display for 11 months in downtown Eau Claire. The sculptures are placed in highly visible public spaces and pedestrian walkways, which can also be seen from a passing automobile.

Artists applying to the Eau Claire Tour are also eligible for consideration as part of the Sculpture One Partner Network that includes: Mason City, Iowa; Castlegar, British Columbia; Mankato, Minnesota; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Artists who choose to place their sculptures in the Partner Network have the potential to be chosen by each of the cities over a five year period.

The Sculpture Tour Eau Claire jury selects 27-31 sculptures each year for exhibition. Artists are eligible to win awards in Best of Show and People's Choice categories. The People's Choice award, determined by popular vote, is a purchase award. Since 2012, the Sculpture Tour has sold 12 sculptures for public and private display in Eau Claire.

Since its founding in 2010, Sculpture Tour Eau Claire has transformed public spaces throughout the city. In just three years, the tour has served as a creative catalyst for community building. The Sculpture Tour reinforces the philosophy of community engagement in place making through its collective vision of public art in the city.
