Eau Claire Regional Arts Council 2014 Support of the Arts Awards

Friday, June 6th, 2014

The Eau Claire Regional Arts Council (ECRAC) is pleased to announce the 2014 Support of the Arts awards for Business, Individual and Artist. The awards were presented at the Jubilee Masquerade Ball on June 5, 2014 by emcee Dean Kallenbach, regional director, Wisconsin Public Radio and Ben Richgruber, executive director, Eau Claire Regional Arts Council. Over 250 guests applauded the award presentations to The Markin Financial Group, MaryEdna Hagen and Dick Milheiser for their long standing support of the arts.

Business in Support of the Arts - The Markin Financial Group
The Markin Financial Group has been around ECRAC for a while, and even more engaged in recent years. What started as patronage, turned into a fun event partnership with a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event, and grew to season sponsorship. They are now actively involved as volunteers as well, helping to plan ECRAC's first ever Fabulous Florals and Fine Art event, premiering in August.

Individual in Support of the Arts - MaryEdna Hagen
MaryEdna Hagen has been involved with ECRAC from the beginning. She has served on the ECRAC Board of Directors, and has continued volunteering ever since. She has been deeply involved in the planning and production of the 2014 Jubilee Masquearede Ball and many others, and is now taking the lead on the previously mentioned Fabulous Florals and Fine Art event in August.

Artist in Support of the Arts - Dick Milheiser
Dick Milheiser is a man who would likely be embarrassed at the thought of receiving an award. He is a retired art teacher who has become deeply involved with the Arts Council both as a volunteer and as an artist. He has been a member of the Visual Arts Committee, and has served as its chair.  If you've seen an exhibit in the gallery chances are good Dick helped hang it.  He is always willing to donate his pottery to events like the 2014 Jubilee, or to spend his time teaching his craft at events like liveART.
