Two Local Arts Organizations Funded On power2give.org!

Thursday, December 20th, 2012

The Eau Claire Regional Arts Council, Inc (ECRAC). is proud to announce the funding of "Firewall" for the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra (CVSO), and "Raise the Curtain" for the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild on power2give.org.  "The Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra is ecstatic at the success of our first project with power2give.org!" says Gordon Murphy, Executive Director of the CVSO. "We had an emergency and power2give.org gives us an avenue to help us with unexpected needs during the year, and to broadcast these needs to a wide audience. Thank you ECRAC and Friends of ECRAC!"

Ann Sessions, Executive Director of the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild (CVTG) agrees. "We are so grateful to Power2Give and the generous donors that made it possible for the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild to purchase the stage curtain for the Grand Theatre. Connecting community members with non-profits through Power2Give is win-win for everyone.  It's an easy way for individuals to make a big impact in their community through small and medium sized donations."

The project was aided with a 50% match by the Friends of the Eau Claire Regional Arts Council, who gave a $5000 matching gift to power2give.org for all listed projects."This is exactly how it's supposed to work," says Ben Richgruber, Executive Director of the Eau Claire Regional Arts Council.  "Projects are posted and shared online, and donors can support to the project or organization that speaks to them."A partnership between the Eau Claire Regional Arts Council and the Arts & Science Council (ASC) in Charlotte, power2give.org empowers you to give directly to local arts, culture and history projects you are passionate about.

At the time of the power2give.org website launch, there were twelve projects listed, representing twelve unique organizations and individuals.  Projects range from art supplies for the family Resource Center and music for the Chippewa Valley Jazz Orchestra, to a shuttle for the Banbury Art Crawl.

Artists, musicians, and non-profits looking to post a project are encouraged to contact ECRAC at 715-832-2787, email info@eauclairearts.com, or stop in at The Eau Claire Regional Arts Center Office at 316 Eau Claire St.  Office hours are 9am to 4:30pm weekdays and until 7pm on Thursdays.
