Eau Claire Regional Arts Council Announces 2104 Jubilee Masquerade Ball
Friday, May 23rd, 2014
The Eau Claire Regional Arts Council (ECRAC) is thrilled to announce the Jubilee 2014 Masquerade Ball at The Florian Gardens on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. This year the annual Eau Claire Regional Arts Council benefit will transform the Florian Gardens into a "luxe and mysterious" evening of live entertainment, gorgeous art, and live and silent auctions. The evening begins with champagne, hors d'ouvres, and a silent auction followed by an elegant three course dinner.
"Elegance and mystery is our motif this year," said Jamie Kane, Jubilee coordinator. "Music by the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra will set the mood, reminisce of a grand Viennese masquerade ball, the perfect occasion for a stunning updo hairstyle and flowing chiffon gown."
"Seeing all the wonderful artists and people that attend this gala is so fun," said Sally Sundby, chair, Jubilee Planning Committee. "I tell everyone I know, you can expect music, wonderful items to bid on and take home, camaraderie and laughs. Giving back to the community in any way that you can is a good thing. If a person attends the State Theatre for an event, then they should consider supporting it on a monetary level - by attending the Jubilee!"
The annual Jubilee benefit presents a featured artist each year, and is known for its incredibly diverse selection of artworks on auction. Original art, to be auctioned throughout the evening, will feature work by Tim Bruckner, Mel Sundby, Bob Hume, Barbara Shafer, Anders Shafer, Allen Servoss, Terry Meyer, Roger Adams, Thomas Gardner, David Caradori, and David Knowlton, C.J. Connor, Jason Anhorn and Patricia Mayhew-Hamm.
"Patricia Mayhew-Hamm is our featured artist this year," said Ben Richgruber, executive director, Eau Claire Regional Arts Council. "She is a contemporary water media artist, known for her dramatic use of color, strong contrasts and compositions. Patricia's painting "Dream Spectrum of Color" is our featured piece for the gala - brilliant colors, quite fitting for a masquerade ball."
"Jubilee is a night I get to be reminded there is so much art and talent around me, and I need to stop and enjoy it more often," said Andrew Martin, Jubilee Planning Committee.
The Jubilee has expanded the evenings festivities this year to include Prelude and AfterGlow parties at the State Theatre. The Prelude social hour will be held in the State Theater lobby from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a shuttle available to transport guests to the Florian Gardens. The AfterGlow party will begin shortly after Jubilee has concluded, and be held backstage at the State Theater with music by the Mike Rambo Band.
"We're all about keeping the party going this year," said Kane. "Once the live auction concludes, people can hop on the shuttle and head back to the State Theatre for live music, casino entertainment, food and drinks - all on the stage! Admission is free to those who attended Jubilee, or $20 at the door. Come one, come all!"
Tickets for Jubilee 2014 are $90 per person, or $650 for a table of eight. Black tie is admired, but not required to attend the event. Tickets can be purchased online atEauClaireArts.com, by calling 715-832-2787, or in person at the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center, 316 Eau Claire Street in downtown Eau Claire.
