ECRAC Seeks Full Time Development Director

The Eau Claire Regional Arts Council, Inc. is seeking a full time Development Director.  This position reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for activities related to fundraising from all sources for ECRAC including foundation, government and individual.  The Development Director will help steward relationships with key program officers, corporate executives, government officials and individual donors.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years development experience or related experience desired
  • Bachelors or advanced degree preferred
  • Exceptional verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment adapting to frequent and rapid changes
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team, self-motivated
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver strong product
  • Strong computer and word processing ability
  • Comfort with databases (Sage Fundraising 50, SABO)
  • Background in or appreciation of theatre and the arts
  • Ability to work with volunteers

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SAMPLE TASKS

Annual Fund - Membership, Sponsorship, etc.

  • Manage, expand and enhance the annual giving program including written requests to current and past donors and prospects, process and acknowledge gifts, ensure proper stewardship
  • Maintain donor recognition and sponsor fulfillment plan, including listings on the website, printed material, and other sponsor benefits
  • Write timely and targeted proposals, reports, acknowledgements and other correspondence with corporate and institutional funders
  • Update and enhance donor solicitation materials, including e-appeals
  • Coordinate ECRAC special and social events for existing donors and prospects
  • Work closely with Marketing Coordinator on playbill solicitation, Jubilee, Annual Meeting and other special events to develop prospects and eliminate overlap with current donor programs
  • Provide support for Membership Development Committee to support annual goals
  • Work with ECRAC and ECRAC Endowment Trust to promote and coordinate endowment giving
  • Assist Executive Director and community partners with Confluence fundraising

Grants

  • Maintain grants calendar for foundation, corporate and government sources
  • Help gather and track factual and anecdotal information from all program areas to use for proposals and reports
  • Write and submit grant applications in a timely and professional fashion, and ensure proper follow up and final reports based on funders needs

Other

  • Office and clerical tasks as assigned: answer phones, ticketing, mailings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
