Funding for programming and operation of the Arts Center comes from diverse sources. Ticket sales represent only a sixth of our cash operating budget, which is why we depend on community support to operate the facility. Types of support include:

• Theatre Memberships: The number of individuals who make a membership contribution to the Arts Center has grown to over 500 members. Gifts range in size from a basic membership of $25 to the benefactor level of $1,000.

• Business Sponsorships: Civic-minded businesses contribute grants of $1,000 or more to help us bring in high caliber national touring shows and concerts, and to keep the cost of tickets affordable. Also, other businesses, contribute in-kind goods or services to keep the Arts Center running smoothly.

• Media Partnerships: Local media outlets help to promote Arts Center events, in order to build awareness, audiences and support. They provide matches for advertising dollars, in effect doubling the value of their services.

• Grants: The Arts Center applies for a number of programming, operating, and special equipment grants every year.

• Theatre Rentals: The Arts Center rents spaces, including office, storage, studio, lobby and stage, to local arts organizations, national touring companies and performers, and businesses. Note: we provide "deep discounts"–what could be called rental subsidy–to our constituents and other non-profits that utilize the State Theatre.

• Support from the City of Eau Claire

Other sources of funding include commissions on art gallery sales, concessions sold during performances, endowment interest and special fundraising events such as the annual Jubilee Gala.
