B.J. Hollars
Thursday, February 16 | 5 - 6 PM
Join us as Eau Claire's Poet Laureate, Bruce Taylor, invites local and regional writers to share their various works of literature. Readings take place in the Janet Carson Gallery every 3rd Thursday of the month.
This month's reading features the works of B.J. Hollars. B.J. is an assistant professor of creative writing at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He received his M.F.A. from the University of Alabama in 2010 and is the author of The Thirteen Loops: Race, Violence and the Last Lynching in America (University of Alabama Press, 2011). His stories and essays have been published in North American Review, Ninth Letter and The Southeast Review among others. Hollars will be reading from his recently released chapbook, In Defense of Monsters, a collection of essays exploring monsters in the modern world.
